Knox Update - 5/25
Knox Update - 5/25
Last week was long and trying emotionally and physically. We are thankful that everything went according to plan and without complication. We got home Friday afternoon and have enjoyed the weekend with everyone at home. Knox started his chemo on Friday which includes a week of steroids at at time. While 7 days is a blip in the span of time, and while steroids are extremely effective, they have an immediate effect on his mood, taste, look, etc. Things he would eat last week "taste like puke" to him now. It's hard to relay the details, but safe to say he's feeling the effects of treatments already. We are looking at a few months or so of chemo while we wait for his T cells to be prepared and we get called back to CHOP for their infusion. Please pray for the doctors making decisions on treating him as they assess his blood counts and his response to treatment in order to determine the next course of treatment. We are thankful for them and their sincere love and care for Knox. Please continue praying for us this week. Tomorrow we go to UVA for chemo infusion. This Thursday he will have a port placed again (this is what he got removed back in December). He's faced and still looking at quite a bit of anesthesia for the procedures he's had and has coming up. He's certainly more outspoken under the steroids to let us know he's not wanting to go up this week. Please pray that we will know and feel God's comforting strength and His strong right hand holding us up. The Lord of Hosts is with us, the God of Jacob is our refuge. Please pray that his CSF will be completely clear of any Leukemia cells from here out. Please pray that his bone marrow will be getting cleared from all Leukemia as he receives chemo over these next few months. Please pray that he can avoid getting sick outside of the Leukemia. Lastly, please pray that his T cells will be ready for infusion sooner than later (sooner than the 3-4 months expected).
Thank you for loving and being with us. Thank you for all of the support you continue to show us.
