Knox Update - 8/15

Knox Update - I'm thankful to report that Knox is enjoying his family (minus one) this weekend...they have visited for a few days and Knox was both excited for them to get here and has been clearly enjoying their presence...Knox started to get over his fevers on Tuesday and was allowed to leave the hospital late Wednesday afternoon...we got back to the apartment and enjoyed the comfort of being out of the hospital room...we made a clinic visit on Friday for blood work and we are thankful his counts are looking pretty good for now...the hospital staff was so noticeably sweet and kind...we were blessed to have the same nurse for three days in a row, which certainly makes a difference...it's amazing how quickly a face becomes familiar and how nice that is...it seems that Knox is on the other side of having side effects that would require hospitalization...we will have clinic visits ahead, but for now we are just in the time where the T cells are growing, dividing, and attacking...with a little over 3 weeks left to be here, we are continuing to pray that our time here would be blessed with success from the LORD...we are thankful for this discovery in treatment and that Knox has been able to receive it, and although we know it doesn't always work, we are earnestly praying that God will use it to heal and cure Knox, and that we would be faithful to boast in the Lord for it...while nothing can separate us from the love of Christ, we do so much desire that Knox will be healed through this, for we know the LORD can if He so desires...Please continue to pray that his T cells would continue to grow and divide especially for these first 6 months, but even more so for many years to come....Please pray that the T cells would be directed to find every bit of Leukemia left and completed destroy it...Please pray that the Leukemia would continue to present the CD-19 protein the T cells are looking for and would not "hide" it...Please pray that Knox would not get any infections (normal or otherwise) while his immune system is down...thank you for all of your prayers and support...please keep praying for our comfort, for while we express and confess our faith in the LORD, this is not without real fear and wonder about how this is all going to go...we want to trust without being anxious of anything, but that is a fight, a real spiritual battle...

Knox Update -  First, thank you to everyone showing us your Knox gear.  It’s a joy to see so many people wearing it and we know so many are praying for us and for Knox.  As we have stated, we hope it causes you to pray, causes others to ask about it, and that Christ will be exalted. Tomorrow is the day-28 bone marrow biopsy and spinal fluid check.  In addition to looking for any detectable amounts of leukemia, they are looking to see if there any bcells present, good or bad.  The CART cells are designed to get rid of all bcells and so the presence or absence of bcells is the indicator of whether the tcells he received are active.  You’ve been praying for the tcells to work and we are praying, specifically, that there are no bcells present in addition to no leukemia.  Once we get these results over the following few days, we’ll know what’s next.  We are praying that essentially nothing is next, and that all that will be required is more follow up l...

Knox Update - 2/20

Knox Update - Week 3 As we get to the end of week 3, I wanted to pass along an update from Philly. At the end of last week, Knox was in the hospital with high fevers. The fevers finally subsided and went away completely, allowing us to leave on Tuesday after a 6 night stay. We are thankful for our warm and comfortable townhouse and, while we are very thankful for the care he received, we are glad to be out of the hospital. He has continued to progress back to full strength. To this point, all tests have come back negative for disease. We pray for this continually and thank you all for calling out to the LORD on his behalf. We continue to pray for these Tcells to last for a long time, reaching and destroying every last blast cell that may be left. From here on out, the clinic visits are not as many and often, but he'll still get bloodwork checked once or twice a week. Knox Gear
