Knox Update (CHOP Day 2) - 7/28

Knox Update (CHOP Day 2) - Knox is in clinic for Day 2...yesterday and today mirror each other and requires a good amount of time in clinic for a couple of chemo infusions and for lots of fluids...yesterday was smooth and uneventful...today has been the same so far...tomorrow and Thursday will be more chemo infusions, but should be shorter days....Thursday will include sedation for a LP and Bone Marrow aspiration to get a baseline for that state of his Leukemia...we know, per his care at UVA, that the state of his disease is in remission, but we pray these tests will continue to reveal the same situation...
The first night was trying for Knox being in a new place that looks nothing like what we're used to...the last time I looked at the clock I saw 1:52am and he was still physically shaking and twisting his blanket around his finger (nervous indication) as the street sounded a bit like a drag strip for motorcycles...last night was a bit better...after clinic yesterday, we crossed over into NJ to get groceries and the area had more of the "home" appearance we are used to...he was still quite nervous about getting back to the hotel and getting into the room, but we did and after some FaceTime with the crew at home, he settled down and slept well...we did find the rooftop pool yesterday and made time for a workout...
Being here makes us remember that 1) Knox's situation is not unique, and 2) It could be worse circumstances...in no way am I minimizing his situation or circumstances...Knox and our family have been presented with a situation that is absolutely unique to us and a fight that requires special effort and a faith only given and directed by the Lord...in seeing all of these other families, however, I'm reminded again that all of these kids have a story and there are so many to help and pray for...thank you so much for your care and prayer for Knox...God has built this "army" of people to for us and we are being upheld by His right hand and He's using you all to do that...We'll keep updating, but thankful for things going smoothly so far...
As you remember him, please pray that his blood counts don't drop too far from this week's chemo...please pray that any nausea that may come about will be minimal and short-lived...please pray that his fear of our surroundings will go away and he'll feel comfort...please continue to pray that this will all work together to heal him...please pray that as we spend so much time in clinic, we could be a blessing to someone else here...
