Knox Update - 3/3
Knox Update 3/3
Thankfully, this past week or so has been an uneventful week to report on. We are at the point in our six week stay where trying to follow some sort of a daily routine is in focus. As far as medical reports go, Knox has only had to have bloodwork drawn a couple of times since the last post as part of his normal follow ups. All of his labs look fine relative to the treatment he’s received, so we are definitely thankful for that. For now,, our time is mostly spent making the morning Wawa run for some hazelnut coffee, then coming back to juggle times of Bible reading, school work, office work, legos, listening to Adventures in Odyssey, listening to other talk radio, playing some Fortnite, going to exercise, eating breakfast late enough to call it lunch, doing more work in the afternoons, figuring out dinner, catching a basketball game on TV (streaming sibling’s games from home and UVA when they’re playing), and finally ending with a couple hours of FaceTime with the family. We have been flooded with cards, notes, and gifts from you all. It’s hard to exactly express and quantify the effect that has, but it’s an impossible task to thank you enough for loving him and us with so much passion, desire, and action. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Looking ahead, next Thursday is the day-28 bone marrow biopsy that will tell us how the CART is going. Because his marrow has been clear on all tests thus far, we would expect it to still be clear of Leukemia, however, now they also will be looking for no Bcells to be present. So, pray that the tcells will be active, no bcells will be present, and that these tcells will last for many months to come. As long as the tcells are active, that means we can proceed without further treatments!! After that, we can leave the following Tuesday after having a follow up visit to discuss all of the results with the team here.
