Knox Update -
It's been a while. In general, that's good news, but there's always something happening, something to consider, and something to decide. From the start, let me say that it's easy to think everything is fine when there aren't any current treatments, hospitalizations, and so forth, but there's never a day that we don't consider what's next, what do we need to do, etc. So please pray that we would not dwell in fear and anxiety, but that we'd rather trust in a way that we can experience the peace of God only available from Him because of the work of Christ and the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
Briefly, we left Philadelphia in March coming home from the most recent treatment. We quickly found out the treatment administered there was not still active, however, Knox had shown months of clear test results. Upon leaving, the last test result from Philly came back a little strange, meaning it was not definitive and there were even specialists saying they didn't really know what to make of it, not knowing if it was indicating the presence of Leukemia or not. A follow up biopsy in April came back completely negative and sort "commented" back on the test result from March. Knox had another follow up biopsy 2 months later (now 2 weeks ago) and we got the same weird results from back in March. Again, something there, not there? Either way, he's currently doing well and in good shape. What's coming and what's next has been the major point of interest and discussion for the last 3+ months. We aren't waiting around doing nothing, but rather are employing Integrative Medicine to help restore his body and equip him with the ability to function correctly and, hopefully, work against anything left. Please pray that these means and methods will be effective and for the logistics to administer these means will be worked out.
Knox has an appointment to consult with Boston Children's Hospital on Wednesday this week. He and I, along with a couple of other kiddos, will head up there. We are simply getting their opinion on how to proceed. We have the thoughts of our main two clinics, but are asking for BCH's opinion too. Please pray we can travel up and back easily (will fly instead of driving), but mostly for wisdom for the group there to help guide us going forward.
We are asking for a clear path, for one that is absent of more chemo or potential radiation, and that these integrative means will be completely effective. While we continue through our trial, we also remember there are many others who are at different stages and haven't been able to avoid the need for further treatment. Please pray for those families.
